dc.description.abstractThis final composite explores the challenges school districts face in the aftermath of a major hurricane. The first scholarly deliverable is a case study article that could be used for teaching graduate students in educational leadership who are planning to become school district superintendents. The title of this article is “Nowhere to Go: When All Classrooms are Unusable After a Natural Disaster”. This case explores efforts to reopen schools after a hurricane leaves all school facilities uninhabitable. The final scholarly deliverable is an empirical article titled “Investigating the Impact of Hurricane Harvey on Student Achievement”. This empirical article focuses on how a major natural disaster and the resulting school disruption affects student achievement.
